Travelling
We would like to advise you to fly to Amsterdam ‘Schiphol’ Airport (not Rotterdam Airport). We do recommend not to rent a car during the OMAE due to the high parking expenses in our major cities. At Schiphol Airport you can take a direct train to Rotterdam-Central Station, which is 1 hour from Schiphol Airport (every 15 minutes). Schiphol station is situated directly below the airport (below Schiphol Plaza), there are clear signs at the airport. You can buy (second or first class) tickets at the counters (recommended) or machines at Schiphol Plaza. Trains to Rotterdam typically leave from Platform 5 or 6.

WTC and most hotels are within walking distance from Rotterdam - Central Station (see the map of Rotterdam, 6 Mb), but you could take a taxi if preferred. For more information about public transport, please see (link RET).

Directions to Rotterdam
Rotterdam is approximately 75kms from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the closest international airport. The quickest and easiest way from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to Rotterdam is by train, which should take about 40 to 50 minutes and an average cost of EUR 10,70.

In Rotterdam it is mandatory to travel with a OV-chipcard. Here's some information about this transportation:

OV-chipcard
The anonymous OV-chipcard is a plastic card on which an amount or a travel product can been loaded.

A disposable OV-chipcard for one trip or for a predetermined short-term use. For example, a one-day train or bus ticket or a 3-day ticket for all public transport within the city of Rotterdam.

Travelling with the OV-chipkaart is very easy. Some things work differently from travelling with the current travelproducts.
